PennHIP is a multifaceted radiographic technology for hip evaluation. More accurate than standard equipment in predicting the onset of osteoarthritis and we recommend PennHIP as the preferred technique for investigation and screening for hip dysplasia. PennHIP is often used to measure the degree of laxity or movement in the hip joint. Studies show that dogs with tighter hips (minimal laxity) are at lower risk to develop hip dysplasia compared to dogs with looser hips (increased laxity).

PennHIP radiographs can be taken as early as 16 weeks of age to allow early if an animal will be suitable for breeding purposes, diagnosis in clinical conditions or help understand potential future health issues.
